Under the leadership of Rick and Debbie Fuller with Pastor Johnson an outdoor "adventure" club is forming at Zion. We will be creating adventures that reach different ages and abilities with challenging and fun outings into God's great outdoors.
Shenandoah National Park, Virginia July 11-16
Group campsites are reserved along the Appalachian Trail and the Skyline Drive in western Virginia. Rick Fuller will set base camps in group sites at 4 campgrounds for 5 evenings. Parents and youth are invited to choose various opportunities to camp, hike, and explore this incredible National Park. Hiking will be mostly day hikes and not too difficult (7-10 miles) between campgrounds. Exploring forays from the campgrounds may include canoeing, caving, historic sites, etc. Cost for youth is $50. Call Rick and Debbie for reservations and details.
Mt Washington, New Hampshire August 15-18
This is a "to the top" more difficult hike for
experienced teenagers and adults (male and female). Leaving Sun day and coming back Wednesday, we will pray for good weather and great hiking. Costs will be split but are probably not more than $50. Rick Fuller will create a base camp at Dolly Copp Campground at the base of Mt. Washington and the hiking group(s) will make the assault over two days. We will have a planning meeting soon. Let Rick, Debbie or Pastor know you want to go.
